FIJI Fashion Week is searching for full-figured models to be a part of the annual fashion show on October 1.
Manager communication Lice Movono-Rova said while they had managed to secure some full-figured models in their final pool of models, they were still looking to add more.
"This year we are paying a lot of attention and celebrating the Pacific body," Mrs Rova said.
"In the previous years, our biggest sized models were sized 12, but we are looking for people up to size 16 now. We are trying to demystify the notion that models have to be extremely slim girls. There are a lot more designers selling plus-sized clothes in Fiji than anywhere else in other countries."
Mrs Rova said the full-figured models they had secured for the fashion show were girls who had modelled with them in past shows.
"We would love to see new faces, more full-figured models take to the stage for Fiji Fashion Week."
FJFW held its fourth and possibly final auditions yesterday at the Fiji Museum where they finalised the 40 girls who will model in October.
Before yesterday's audition, they had already secured 25-30 girls to be part of the fashion show.
"Unless we fall short of our target of 40 girls, we have set July 22 aside for an audition to look for some more models.
"Especially to the full-figured models, if they know how to walk like models, what it takes to be a model and are between the sizes 14-16 then please come for the audition."
FJFW will be held from October 1 - 5.
