A NEW category will be introduced at this year's annual Fiji Fashion Week show.

The Pacific designers' category will bring out designer labels from Samoa, Cook Islands and Fiji, FJFW publicist Jone Tuiipelehaki said yesterday.

The show ù with front row tickets available at $100 a seat ù will feature the work of 50 designers from around the Pacific.

Mr Tuiipelehaki said other categories included the emerging, established and children's wear.

"Pacific fashion is a growing trend and FJFW provides a great platform for designers from the Pacific to either launch or just showcase their designs," he said in response to questions from this newspaper.

The show will cast 50 models and will be staged on November 11, 13 and 14 at two separate locations, Mr Tuiipelehaki said.

The first two shows will be held at the sixth floor of TappooCity while the third show will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Denarau, in Nadi.

"The Suva shows will have the established category on the first night and the second day will have the children's, Pacific and emerging categories," Mr Tuiipelehaki said.

The Nadi show will feature the winning designs of the emerging, established and Pacific categories, he said.
