THEY may look like your average teenagers, but these two young boys have a mission as they design clothes to tackle an issue they feel passionate about.

Seci Burese and Andre Marseu, both Form Five students of Marist Brothers' High School, are designing clothes inspired by women who are subjected to abuse because of the clothes they wear.

The duo was part of the student's designer's seminar that was organised and facilitated by Fiji Fashion Week at the Peninsula Hotel in Suva yesterday.

Young Burese said merging his piece of work with Marseu was the right thing to do as they ventured into the fashion industry.

Their collection called "FEARSE" will empower women to be comfortable, confident and fearless with whatever piece of garment they wear.

"In society today, women are scared of what others think of the clothes they are wearing," the 16-year-old Ba lad said.

"That should not be the case in Fiji and people need to change their mindset about fashion.

Fashion, he said, empowered not only women but men too.

Mr Marseu said men particularly need to change their perspective when women dressed in style.

The seminar was attended by designers from around the country.
