Miss Teen Model finals start tomorrow
17 finalists willcompete in the final round of the Miss Teen Model competition brought to by NIVEA at Damodar City tomorrow evening.
After a hectic week of rehearsals and a weekend photo shoot for the Miss Photogenic Award at the Lagoon Resort, the girls will compete in a 3 round final competition.
Fiji Fashion Week is also looking forward to having Mr. Craig Magnusson, Australian Business and Export Manager of Beiersdoff, the manufacturer and distributors of NIVEA as chief guest and judge.
“We are a brand that cares for skin and good habits start young like caring for your skin and your health and from that perspective it’s a good fit for us” said Magnusson.
Magnusson also added that developing good habits when you’re young means you reap the benefits when you’re older which is the reason NIVEA got involved with the Miss Teen Model Competition.
“I’m looking for someone who simulates with our brand, someone that has that wholesome look, but we’re not about beauty.” said Magnusson.
“We’re looking for someone who will help get our message across.” he also added.
Fiji Fashion Week Managing Director Ellen Whippy Knight who will also be judging is excited about the Miss Teen Model Competition being a successful platform for discovering new talent.
“We couldn’t hold this competition last year because we had no sponsors but the response this year has been phenomenal and FJFW is more committed to this than ever” said Knight.
The Miss People’s Choice Award closes on Facebook tomorrow at 12pm and competition at Damodar City is from 4-6pm.
The competition winner will receive a $1000 cash prize, with the first and second runners up receiving $750 and $500 respectively. Three prizes of $200 will also be available for the contestants chosen as Miss Personality, Miss People's Choice and Miss Photogenic.
