ALL geared up and ready to take on the fashion runway are the Vamarasi sisters who are newbies to the Fiji Fashion Week Student Designer Show.

As the countdown to the show draws closer the sisters are all hyped up and ready to take on the fashion industry.

Marry and Rina Vamarasi are of Chinese, Fijian and Rotuman descent.

"We were inspired by our beautiful island Rotuma, where we had a vacation three years ago and totally loved it," said Marry.

Both sisters agreed that the distance from their home to the shops was one of the biggest challenges they faced.

Taking into account that they have their differences, Marry said it was quite challenging for two minds that had different ideas, to be put together in one design.

Rina explained that she and her sister both love fashion and have learnt about it through attending fashion shows held by FJFW.

"Costing of the outfit was very pricey and garments these days have to be quality and quality is pricey," said Marry.

Both sisters do not expect to win but rather to use this opportunity to showcase their talent.

Marry is in Year 13 and her sister, Rina, is an Year-12 student of Tailevu North College.
