FIFTEEN students of Labasa Sangam College have been awarded for their hard work in making the Duke of Edinburgh program a success this year.

Speaking at the graduation night on Saturday at the school, ATH Vodafone Fiji Foundation executive officer Ambalika Kutty told the students their contribution to community work had made a difference.

"It doesn't matter what you have tried ù whether it was team-building skill or other sports, poultry farming or a new volunteering activity, you have all gained a meaningful experience which translates into another facet of the person you become," she said.

"For those of you receiving the awards today, young men and women, I want you to know how proud I am of your achievements; of your diligence and resolve in pursuing your goals; your energy and talent; your optimism and enthusiasm. These qualities shine from you today."

The students helped the school through funding given by ATH to carry out community work which included maintaining a clean environment or helping out with farm work at community level.
